The Asset Managers Forum's
Swaps Conference

Swaps trade volumes are setting new records each year and market continues to attract new participants each year. It is time for the swaps market to enter into an era of modernizaton through automatin and standardization. The Conference is designed to put asset managers, dealers, custodians and other market participants in the driver's seat in order to steer the industry toward enhanced operational business practices relating to swaps.
The Asset Managers Forum will soon release the AMF Swaps Best Practices White Paper. Completed over the course of twelve months, the AMF coordinated the efforts of over 150 industry volunteers in more than 200 meetings. Now it is time for the rubber to meet the road as the industry develops plans to implemet these recommended best practices.

Mr. Iwanowski will also address, from a portfolio management perspective, why it is important that asset managers, broker dealers, custodians and other interested parties continue to work together on standards, automation, and enhancing controls.

Specifically, the hedge funds can now pull pricing data "on demand" that can be used for reconciliation of positions and trade valuations.

Joseph Sack will provide an update on current items that relate directly to the implementation of the swaps best practices. In addition, the team will speak on how it is working with Standard & Poors on creating standard identifiers for swaps and how they can benefit the industry at large.
