This session will provide an entry level view of the organization or the FIX session layer that manages the transport or messages and a view of the way that FIX messages are structured.
- Connectivity

Connecting to hubs and counterparties will be covered in this session. It will also outline the approach and discuss technology needed to begin connecting to multi-dealer hubs and counterparties. As firms move towards implementing FIX they have a variety of choices about the most efficient and scalable ways to connect.
- Pre-trade and Trade Messages

The session will discuss the use of FIX messages for the standardized trading of fixed income securities, the concept of price feeds as well as the uptake of the FIX protocol in the last 12 to 15 months.
- FIX in New Issue Syndication

This section will discuss the proposed extension of FIX to the debt syndication process.
- Implementing FIX on the Buyside

Charles River Development is the first firm to be FIX certified for Agencies, Treasuries and US Corporates for the exchange of pre-trade, trade and post-trade messages. This session will cover the use of FIX messages for the standardized trading of fixed income securities and the integration into the order management process.
